Update over het Albino project in Tanzania (ADRA)
Bij deze een update over de zonnebrillen die naar het albino project van ADRA in Tanzania zijn gegaan. ESSILOR Nederland schonk bovendien speciale lenzen die uitermate geschikt zijn om daglicht dragelijk te maken voor albino´s.
De volgende brief werd naar één van onze vrijwilligers gestuurd samen met het onderstaande artikel:
"I have written an article on the Albino Support Initiative you have helped to launch with ADRA Tanzania. It was wonderful meeting these beautiful kids and getting to know their dreams for their lives. Asked about what they wanted to be when they finished schooling, they told us they wanted to be doctors, social workers, human rights activists, lawyers, pilots, a pastor, members of parliament and even a future female president stood tall and proclaimed she wanted to help her fellow albinistic people against discrimination and end the albino murders.
Thank you so much for enabling us to give out the sunglasses, we have still a few left and the prescription glasses are in the process of being fitted, but are going to be handed out next time we meet them.
Let me tell you that your initiative has sparked a flame to keep the albino support going and so we have sought funding for a new Albino School and Health Support Project. The project has already been approved by our donor ADRA International. At the moment we are in the process of designing a sustainable project for the 60 students of Mukidoma Secondary School in Usa River, near Arusha. We welcome your input and ideas to this process.
The albino kids of Mukidoma Secondary School highly appreciated your help and say Nashkuru sana/Thank you very much!
